The Machining Business Unit specializes in high-precision machining of cast iron, special and stainless steels, and aluminum. With more than 20 CNC machining centers, automated Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMS), and robotic production islands, the unit ensures high-volume capacity while maintaining top-level quality for industries such as automotive, industrial, marine, agriculture, and energy.
The Paitone facility is dedicated to heavy-duty machining, handling components from a few grams up to 1.5 tons. It is equipped with horizontal and vertical machining centers, large turning machines, and advanced quality control systems, including helium leak testing and dedicated metrology rooms.
The Milan facility focuses on aluminum plate processing and special materials, offering superior surface finishing and tight tolerances. The site is equipped with:
- Surface Milling Machine – for aluminum plates up to 2200x4500 mm and thicknesses from 6 to 85 mm
- PowerMax ST – a high-performance machining center configurable for 3 or full 5-axis operations, ideal for demanding applications
- Atlas Vision GU – a large vertical gantry machining center with upper guideways and a bi-rotary head for 5-axis operations on oversized parts (X 13,000 mm, Y 4,200 mm, Z 1,500 mm)
